The A-League will return to free-to-air television on the ABC following a deal between the national broadcaster, Football Federation Australia and its broadcast partner, Fox Sports.

The new deal also includes broadcasting Socceroos and Matildas matches for the next two years. It additionally marks the ABC’s return to broadcasting the W-League.  It was W-League broadcast partner from 2008 to 2017.

Under the agreement, 29 live matches from the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season will be broadcast on ABC TV and iview at 5pm Saturdays.  For the Finals Series, the public network will show delayed broadcasts of one elimination final, one semi  and the grand final..

Fourteen Rounds of the Westfield W-League 2019/20 Season will aired at 4pm on Sundays and the entire Westfield W-League 2020 Finals Series will be broadcast live on ABC TV.

Additionally, it will show  the upcoming Matildas international friendlies live. These are matches against Chile at Bankwest Stadium (November 9) and Coopers Stadium (November 12) along with next year’s Women's Olympic Football Tournament Asian qualifiers.

Details on broadcasting the Socceroos on ABC are yet to be announced.

Fox Sports will continue to broadcast live all A-League, W-League, Socceroos and Matildas matches via Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

FFA Chairman, Chris Nikou said the reach and audience on ABC will complement that of Fox Sports, Kayo and the MyFootballLive app, allowing more Australians access to the code.
