Football Federation Australia’s chief commercial officer Luke Bould will soon depart the organisation after nearly six years in the role.

Bould is highly regarded in sports administration and during his time at the FFA, he was at the forefront of the sport’s largest ever broadcast deal with Fox Sports. He also was involved in developing the partnership structure with IMG which saw a five-fold increase in the value of the FFA’s international rights.

A key part of the FFA’s sponsorship revenue growth was generated from the success of women’s football and community football initiatives.

Bould was also heavily involved in developing Football Network, the FFA’s digital network that brings together all aspects of the game, including its joint venture with Telstra to release the MyFootballLive app.

FFA chief executive David Gallop, also due to vacate his role at the end of the year, said that Bould led and managed broad and important aspects of FFA’s strategy through a period of significant growth.

Bould’s November 30 departure follows that of Emma Highwood, head of community, football development and women’s football, who left the FFA at the end of August and head of national performance, Luke Casserly, who recently left the organisation.

A spokesperson from the FFA told Sponsorship News the FFA board is conducting a wide ranging review of the organisation’s senior management structure, following the recent departures.

Bould is yet to reveal his next role but told Sponsorship News he was exploring a few opportunities.
