Red Energy has signed on as a major partner of Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art in a new deal that will support the gallery's regional tours in three states and territories.

The Snowy Hydro subsidiary becomes a second-tier sponsor of the MCA on a twelve-month deal, and will feature alongside existing supporters such as Audi, Citi, Ray White and the Sydney Airport.

Ramy Soussou, Red Energy's general manager – sales, storage solutions and regulatory affairs, told Sponsorship News that the partnership would broaden the scope of MCA's regional touring program.

"Becoming the MCA’s Touring Partner will mean that school children and residents who may not be able to travel to Sydney to visit the MCA will be able to enjoy exceptional Australian art in their own towns," said Soussou.

Red Energy will support two specific exhibitions, a tour of works by Hilarie Mais, which will visit Victoria's Tarrawarra Museum of Art and the ACT's Drill Hall Gallery, and 'Primavera at 25', which will visit Port Macquarie's Glasshouse and the Western Plains Cultural Centre.

It will also use the partnership to reward a series of community partners with 'Family Fun Day' visits to the MCA as part of the partnership.

"We also believe in giving back to the communities we do business in and we think this is a really wonderful way of supporting Australian artists and helping to provide an experience people in the regions might otherwise have missed out on," he said.
