Some of Australia's biggest brands and rights-holders, including sponsorship executives and marketing leaders from Etihad Airways, the NRL and American Express, are among the first speakers confirmed for November's Sponsorship News conference.

This year, our Sydney event will discuss the burning issues in sponsorship – from industry transparency through to disputes over sponsorship metrics.

Julie Nestor, the vice president of marketing and partnerships at American Express ANZ, will discuss the recent evolution of AMEX's sponsorship strategy and how technology and digital advances are changing the payment services giant's future approach to sponsorship.

And the Australian sponsorship manager of Etihad Airways, Simon Hawk will look at how the brand is positioning its local sponsorship portfolio, its goals and strategy. Hawk oversees the airline's entire sponsorship spend, which includes a principal partnership with A-League club Melbourne City, Etihad Stadium naming rights and a host of fashion, food and entertainment properties.

Many more speakers will be announced over the coming weeks, who will speak on the latest developments in women's sport and new trends in sponsorship activation.
