Optus, the principal partner of the Melbourne Stars men’s and women’s BBL teams, has broadened its sponsorship and will provide gender parity in its final’s bonus for both teams.
A spokesperson from the franchise told Sponsorship News that the two teams will now wear identically branded uniforms with the Optus ‘yes’ logo to feature on the sleeve of both the women’s and men’s uniform.
The spokesperson said that the women’s team were yet to make the finals but that the addition of star top order batter Elyse Villani, was likely to result in improved performance next season.
The Melbourne Stars are expected to announce a further two sponsorship renewals next week.
