After two seasons of rolling livery, Erebus Motorsport has secured full-time naming rights sponsors for both of its V8 Supercar entries in 2016.

Penrite Oil has agreed a single-season title partnership with the #9 vehicle, to be driven by David Reynolds, while Sponsorship News understands a new sponsor will be unveiled for Erebus' second entry, to be driven by Aaren Russell.

Lubricant manufacturer Penrite signed a short-term naming rights deal for last year's Bathurst 1000 before extending its tenure to include the second half of the 2015 Supercars season.

The deal follows the December 2015 launch of Penrite's new ambassador program, which will provide contra support and marketing and promotional assistance to several grassroots motorsports in the coming year.

Rookie driver Aaren Russell, who will also join the Erebus team, will bring personal sponsor Plus Fitness to his campaign. An Erebus spokesperson did not confirm if Plus would take over title rights but did confirm a full-time major sponsor for Russell had been secured.

The two deals are a major coup for Erebus, which has been on the hunt for permanent naming rights sponsors since the beginning of the 2014 season.

One-off and short-term sponsors of the team have included Beko, Solar Australia, MEX Maintenance Software, Tasmanian car dealership Neil Buckby Motorsports, Korean FMCG brand Nongshim and TapOut.

Penrite also sponsors the Penrite Supercross Championships and the Penrite Honda MX supercross team, from which Erebus' newly-appointed general manager commercial and communications, Yarrive Konsky, was recruited.

Konsky joined Erebus in November following the departure of the team's corporate communications and brand manager, Adam Gardini, who joined Racing Queensland as communications manager.

Konsky will also take on responsibility for sponsorship and commercial with the team moving its sponsorship sales function back in-house. Erebus outsourced sponsorship sales to external agencies in 2015 after general manager of commercial Jeff Reibel joined NRL side North Queensland as sales and business development manager.

Erebus has also confirmed it will switch from Mercedes-AMG vehicles to Holden for the 2016 season.

Konsky told Sponsorship News that discussions for factory support from Holden were ongoing.

The 2016 Supercars season, the first to feature a partnership with challenger telco OVO, begins with March's Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
