V8 Supercars outfits Prodrive, Erebus, Holden Racing Team and Tekno have all unveiled major sponsors on the eve of the season-opening Clipsal 500.

Monster Energy will up its Supercars investment this year, signing on as principal partner of Prodrive rookie Cameron Waters.

While the energy drink has a significant portfolio of motorsports ambassadors, it has been absent as a principal sponsor on the Supercars grid since 2013, when it was ousted as a sponsor of Triple Eight by Red Bull.

It returned to the Supercars as a supporter of Holden Racing Team and driver James Courtney last year, and will now expand its presence as principal backer of Prodrive's #6 entry.

Waters, the dominant driver in the V8's development Dunlop Series last year, will also be supported by Prodrive-affiliated brands such as MTAA Super, Enzed, Orrcon Steel, DeWalt and Castrol.

SharkBite Plumbing Solutions, a subsidiary of water control multinational Reliance Corporation, has signed its first local partnership.

SharkBite will feature on the rear-quarter panels of HRT's two cars throughout 2016, where Holden Racing Team driver Courtney will be aiming for a third successive victory.

The partnership is SharkBite's first in Australian motorsport, and HRT managing director, Adrian Burgess, said the deal demonstrated HRT's ability to attract non-traditional, non-automotive brands.

The team is yet to announce its principal livery for 2016. Last season's principal partner, SP Tools, has downgraded its support of the team.

Erebus Motorsport has continued its recent commercial momentum, adding a new partnership with Hungry Jacks across its two cars.

Hungry Jack's will sit below Penrite as the co-major sponsor of David Reynold's #9 vehicle, with branding to include the front bumper, rear-quarter and windshield assets.

It is the first major sponsorship for the fast-food chain since being ousted from its AFL deal by McDonald's last year.

The deal is the latest in a string of commercial wins for Erebus in 2016. It has secured Penrite and Plus Fitness as principal sponsors of its two cars, switched from Mercedes to Holden and secured the likes of Momo Tires, Unit Clothing, Autolite and P1 Racewear as corporate partners.

Tekno Autosports, meanwhile, has confirmed that Darrell Lea's STIX liquorice brand has back-flipped on an initial decision to end its principal sponsorship.

The confectionary brand will return as naming rights sponsor of Tekno's Will Davison-piloted #19 Holden, despite earlier flagging its intention to depart Supercars sponsorship.

STIX initially signed a twelve-month naming rights deal with the team last season, supporting Shane van Gisbergen, who has since moved to Tripe Eight Racing.
